Introduction to Play Therapy With Young Children

In this training you will be able to:

Basic introduction to play therapy and counseling children, play therapy skills, setting up a play therapy room and play therapy resources. How to identify the difference between the clinical and non clinical child population. We will also review the requirements for becoming a Registered Play Therapist, and how to include parents in the counseling process. This extended 6 hour version will include practical application of the material via role play, video, and experiential activities so that participants will be able to use the play therapy skills they learn in their present work settings.

Number of participants is kept to a minimum in order to promote discussion and hands on interaction.

Ethical Decision Making in Play Therapy & Working with Minor Clients

Cost: 55.00 per person

If you attend the LPCA Convention in Savannah May 10-13, 2017 this is the same training, however it is a more intimate setting which will provide a more personalized opportunity to discuss ethical dilemmas.

In this training you will be able to:

Identify some of the main ethical dilemmas that counselors face when working with children. We will use Ethical Decision Making Models to make informed choices when there is an ethical conflict. We will discuss when and how seek supervision and consultation regarding ethical conflicts. You will feel confident that you can make ethical decisions when working with children and their families.
